People, organizations, entities always communicate, whether verbal or non-verbal. Language is a representation of our view of the world, posture and mimic tells about the state we are in. There are no mistakes in communication, only reactions. Our reaction is steered by our own map of the world, our own experiences and our “filter” systems (information, impulses we let in or keep out), our values and beliefs - often unconscious acts.
No wonder that even speaking the same language does not protect us from misunderstandings. Managers meet people with different perceptions and different ways to make their decision. They often just don’t understand each other and eye the other party as a barrier.
